Jo Adell Blasts Historic 514-Foot Home Run

Angels Outfielder Sets New Minor League Record

Adell's towering shot travels farther than any other recorded home run this season

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell made history on June 21, 2023, when he launched a 514-foot home run for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees. The prodigious blast, which left his bat at a blistering 113.6 mph, is the longest recorded home run of the season and the longest ever tracked by MLB's Statcast system in a minor league game.

Adell's home run, which landed just beyond the left-field wall at Salt Lake City's Smith's Ballpark, broke the previous record set by Pittsburgh Pirates prospect Endy Rodriguez earlier this season (509 feet). It also marked Adell's 20th home run of the season, extending his lead as the Minor League leader in that category.

The 24-year-old Adell, who is widely regarded as one of the top prospects in baseball, has been tearing up the Pacific Coast League this season, batting .325 with 65 RBIs and an OPS of 1.060. His impressive performance has earned him a promotion to the Angels' Major League roster, where he is expected to make his debut in the coming weeks.
